The members of this organization value the Allegheny Front as an
unspoiled
natural resource. This resource is in danger of being lost to federally
subsidized industrialization by means of the erection of 18 wind
turbine
electric generators, called the Lookout Windpower LLC project. We feel
that
this will negatively effect the quality of life enjoyed by the
residents
of Southern Somerset County, visitors, tourists, travelers, and
wildlife
who value this resource. We also feel that the consequences of this
project
have not been fully evaluated. Our intent is to raise public awareness
of
this potential loss, and to encourage the authorities and agencies with
jurisdiction to halt this project by instituting siting regulations to
protect
our ridge.
