  Harnedsville Church

The Harnedsville Church is located in the village of Harnedsville, just south of Confluence, Pa, in Somerset County.  The mailing address is: 1643 Listonburg Rd, Confluence, Pa 15424. 

Harnedsville Evangelical Congregation started about 1870, in a log school house at Walker's Mill.  The first preacher was Rev. George White, a circuit rider from Preston Co., WV. 

In 1910, a new church was built in the village of Harnedsville on land acquired from Thomas and Elizabeth Bird.  It was dedicated as the "Memorial United Evangelical Church".   It is the church in which we still worship.  In 1946, the Evangelical Church merged with the Church of United Brethren in Christ to form The Evangelical United Brethren Church.  In 1968, the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church united, and became the United Methodist Church, of which we are members today. 

Sunday morning worship is 9AM, followed by Sunday 
School at 10AM. 

Directions: From Somerset, take Rt. 281 south to 
Confluence, Pa.  Turn left on Rt. 523 and drive 2 miles.

Listonburg Church

Listonburg, Pa is located off PA Rt. 523, south of Confluence, PA, in Somerset County.  The mailing address is: Lower Whites Creek Rd, Confluence, PA 15424.  Sunday morning worship is at 10AM. 

Trinity Methodist Chapel was organized in 1872.  The first pastor, Rev. Lenmel W. Hashap, who was a carpenter, designed and built the church.  The plot of ground where the church is located was donated in 1872 by William Miller, a farmer whose land extended to that site.  The first steward, and class leader, was Jesse Liston, a farmer and businessman in Listonburg.  The present pews were purchased by The Globe Furniture Company.  The iron railing was donated and placed by the the stone steps by a local Blacksmith, Peter Sheck.  The Memorial windows were installed in 1950.   

Directions: From Somerset, take Rt. 281 south to Confluence, Pa.  Turn left onto Rt. 523 and drive five miles to village of Listonburg.  Turn right onto Lower Whites Creek Rd.  Follow 200 yards.  Church on left.

Silbaugh Church
 

Silbaugh, Pa - is located off Fort Hill Road, about 6 miles east of Confluence, Pa, in Somerset County.  The mailing address is: 343 High Point Road, Fort Hill, Pa 15540.  Sunday School is at 10AM, followed by Worship Service at 11AM. 

The church grew out of a class organized between 1825 and 1830 by William Silbaugh and James Boardman. Worship Services were first held in private homes, and a school building. In 1879 a frame building was erected at a cost of $400, under the administration of Rev. J. B. Taylor & J. F. Murray.

The original building was destroyed by fire on June 12, 1914.  The present building was erected in 1915.  In 1968, the membership at Silbaugh was 51.

Directions: From Somerset, take Rt. 281 south.  After town of Kingwood, turn left at sign toward Fort Hill.  Follow approx. 3 miles to church on the right.
