I'm car 307
Here is a page dedicated to all my timeslips.
8/20/98 This is my first attempt at a dragstrip, let alone the first time taking this car down a 1320. We went to Keystone Raceway in New Alexandria, PA. It’s about 70 miles from my house and is the closest racetrack.
Run 1
Car setup as it has been. Tires Front 40psi, rear 35psi, timing 9^. I did a small burnout. Got up to the line, used both feet and with the car in D left on green. I let the AOD shift all shifts (4200rpm shift points). No wheel spin
Being my first run, I was pretty excited, and the car felt strong. My top end is all there. The car feels fast at the end of the track, even though it shifts into 3rd and is only taching ~4000 rpms (2psi of boost)
Run 2
Same setup. Small burnout. Both feet off the line, held 1st till 5400, shifted and held 2nd till 5400 (AOD trick), then crossed finish in third around 4100 RPMs. No wheel spin

Raising my Shift points actually hurt my ET. The stock 86 heads/intake really die after 5000. My car pulls strong from 4-5k but from there on it looses a lot of it.
Run 3
Iced intake, 10^timing. Huge burnout. Both feet on the start line,, but got a little excited and tried to bring the Rs up during the tree, the tires started to spin while the tree was still going through the third yellow, I let the brake go on green and smoked the tires clean through first.

Even though I spun real bad, and my 60' time sucked, I was rolling at 96MPH. The guy I raced beat me with 15.1, but was only at 89MPH.
Run 4
Last run of the night, cooler temp (60 down from 80), iced intake, 11^timing. Small burnout. Both feet, but very little initial rpms, floored car and held 1st 5300, 2nd 5300, 3rd. very little wheel spin

This was my last run, I think the timing and cooler air helped. The car showed no signs of detintation, and I was getting 6psi at 5300Rs.
Over all I was very pleased with the performance of the car. And we had lots of fun doing it. I didn't break anything, and saw more 5.0 Mustangs in one place than I ever have. There was even a State Trooper there, and we all didn't have to run and hide. See you next week at the track
