Evaluation IDM |
To help understand how the IDM operates an evaluation IDM was built using an very early IDM 100. This evaluation IDM is a very important tool and supplies much more information than stand alone IDM tests could ever yield. We have the ability to correlate any IDM signal both external and internal.

Figure 1-A shows the evaluation IDM. The IDM is mounted on a piece of LEXAN that has been treated with a static protective coating in order to prevent static build up. Note the use of a special quick connection and clips for easy signal access. Tests points of interest have been brought out to a break-out-board. As shown in Figure 1-B these signals are CID, Fuel Delivery, TTL_CID, TTL_Fuel Delivery, TTL_IDM Feedback, MCU-FF, ??, and ???. The use of question marks for signals now appears to be very clumsy and confusing, not one of the best choices. This may be changed if further confusion is caused by this goofy decision.
