Viking Club Update: I’d like to thank Pam and Clara for teaching 2 Viking Clubs while we were away. Sorry Connie’s February Club was on a bad weather day. I’ve been busy working on the rest of the year. (mostly on paper until I get home!) At the April 14th meeting, I will be working with a book entitled “Ragged Edge Flowers”, a new twist to the rag quilt rage. For May, I will highlight techniques from a book entitled “Stylish Sewing” which focuses on techniques for Embellishing clothing.

Don’t forget about the challenge project for the year which will be shared at our June picnic. Class times are from 1-3 or 6-8 in Somerset and then from 6-8 the following evening in Johnstown. Remember you can join in at any time and just pay for the remaining months. Hope to see you there! I’m sorry to report that the Spring Viking Club Trip has been cancelled due to lack of interest. We’ll try again later in the year.

Quilt Club News: Pam is planning to start the new quilt club on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. It will be a beautiful heirloom quilt. What a great project for you to work on while learning basic heirloom techniques! Any questions or to register, please call the Somerset store and ask for Pam.

Software Club News: Connie is anxious to start classes again soon. As you know, we handle our software training in a very personal and individual way. If you are interested in any software training in or out of the store, please call her on her cell phone (814-442-4569) or e-mail her at shesews@zoominternet.net. Connie will set up small or individual classes with you and will cover what you want to learn. Your first 1 hour orientation with Connie is at no charge and after that, you will pay her directly. Please contact her with any questions.

New Top of the Line Sewing Machine Coming in June 2008: We haven’t been totally goofing off while we are away. We attended a business meeting in Las Vegas (that was tough!) the end of January to get information about some changes that have been made within the company which promises to bring great things for all of us in 2008! Some of you have probably heard the buzz on the web that a new top-of-the-line machine will be introduced at convention in June. This was confirmed at the meeting but details are still very hush! All they will tell us is that there will be more changes than we saw when we went from the Designer I to the Designer SE, which we all know were many. We will fill in the blanks as they become available to us. For those of you who have a Designer SE, or SE LE, There will be very fair trade-in deals offered.

If you were thinking of a new top of the line, you don't have to wait. Buy a new Designer SE LE now during the sale and you will be given 100% of what you paid for it towards the price of the new machine. Take advantage of the bonus package that comes with the DSELE and keep it to use with your new machine. You will gain nothing by waiting. We are now taking names of those of you who want to be the first with the new machine . You can be assured of being on the first level of shipping if you make a $500 deposit now. Also If you are interested in a pre-owned Designer SE, get your name on that list and we will notify you when they become available.

School Machine Buyout: Many of you take advantage of the great school machines that we trade-in from the local schools each year. We now have a fantastic selection of computerized Viking school machines for you starting at just $499! These machines come to you completely gone over and with a full year parts warranty and free first year service. This a great way for you to get Swedish workmanship for a fraction of what these machines sold for new! Stop soon at either store for best selection.

UFO Days: Those of you who came to the store to finish your Un-Finished Objects seemed to have a great time so we will continue to have them as long as you want to come. Please call the Somerset store and Pam will let you know what the date is for that month. Come and sew for all or part of the day and enjoy the company of fellow sewers. Cost is only $5.
